Briefing at New York State Capitol

March 19, 2026

PRINCETON, NJ - We met with Assemblyman Scott Gray at the New York State Capitol in Albany to present our Ultralight Modular Reactor (UMR) technology and explore its strategic relevance to both state and federal priorities. The meeting brought together our leadership team — CEO Howard Oh, COO Julio Renta, and CTO Eric Link — alongside legislative analysts and representatives from Nuclear New York for a substantive policy discussion on next-generation portable nuclear power. Our UMR platform, designed for deployment across ground, maritime, and aerospace environments, represents a focused effort to fill a critical capability gap in reliable, off-grid power for defense and national security applications.

Our mission — "Deploying Mission Assurance Physics Architectures for U.S. Strategic Deterrence" — guided the substance of the Capitol visit. We presented the UMR as a mobile, subcritical nuclear power platform with applications that extend well beyond conventional electricity generation, including support for battery energy storage system (BESS) deployment, electrified grid-independent operations, emergency and disaster response, nonproliferation and treaty verification, and nuclear forensics for border protection and homeland security. Our reactor's accelerator-driven design eliminates the risk of core meltdown, and its modular form factor — scaling from 1 kW to 100 kW — enables integration with vehicles, cargo aircraft, and naval vessels, with the potential to significantly reduce military dependence on diesel fuel logistics.

Assemblyman Gray, who represents New York's North Country and the Fort Drum military community, expressed strong support for our technology and its alignment with regional energy challenges and defense innovation priorities. This meeting reflects growing recognition among New York policymakers of the strategic and economic potential of advanced nuclear systems, and we look forward to continued engagement with legislative stakeholders as we advance the UMR toward deployment. We remain committed to strengthening public and policy awareness of how our compact nuclear technology can contribute to the prosperity and security of New York State and the United States.
